The hog roast is really where The Salt Pig started and we care passionately about our rare breed Mangalitsa & Berkshire pigs and the product that we serve. We can honestly say that every hog has been reared by ourselves using the best animal husbandry practices.
They are kept on local heathland and woodland and the way they are reared is reflected in the quality and taste of the pork and crackling! The hog will be cooked all day over logs and it will be ready right on time to serve to your guests with fresh bread rolls and homemade apple sauce.
The pigs have featured on BBC Autumnwatch (October 2017) and the BBC Countryfile Winter Special (February 2018).
